Chat Bubbles
Messages render as bubbles with role-based styling:
- User - Right-aligned, indigo background
- Assistant - Left-aligned, slate background with markdown rendering
- Tool calls - Collapsible reasoning steps with input/output preview
- System - Centered, amber background for notifications
Tool calls show as expandable cards with the agent name, action, parameters, and result. Click to expand/collapse.
Input Panel
Rounded pill-style input at the bottom of the chat area:
- Enter - Send message
- Shift+Enter - New line (multi-line input)
- Send button - Submits the message
- Stop button - Cancels in-flight generation (appears during streaming)
- Character count - Shows input length
The input auto-resizes up to a maximum height, then scrolls internally.
Session History
Conversations persist across restarts via SessionService:
- Auto-saved after each turn
- Stored as JSON in
%APPDATA%/Gravity/sessions/ - Access previous sessions from the Sessions sidebar panel (activity bar)
- Sessions show preview, message count, and timestamp
- Export as JSON or Markdown for sharing
